DJ Shadow in The New York Times :
"It's a joy to report that not all "old
school" (or in this case, mid-school) rappers are mired
in outdated beats and bitter attempts to right their place
in history. Prince Po, who along with Pharoahe Monch defined
early 90's rap at its most creative as Organized Konfusion,
has put out a truly brave single, "Hold Dat" (Lex). Underground
rap is finally emerging from its own conservatism and embracing
the present, evidenced by the adventurous production on
this single from Richard X. Early 80's electro bleeps work
well with Po, who no longer seems burdened with having
to separate himself from Monch. Let's hope "Hold Dat" and
the coming album will bring the kind of mainstream success
that has so far eluded Prince Po."

Jockey Slut Single Of The Week :
“Heading back underground after his dalliance
with chart chasers Liberty X and Sugababes, post-modern
pop magpie/jammy blagging bootlegger Richard X here provides
ex-Organized Konfusion MC Prince Po with one hell of a
beat for his debut Lex release. X loops up a segment from
Nightmares On Wax’s 1990 track ‘I’m For
Real’, resulting in a bleep-heavy, breathless beat
that the Neptunes would kill for, and once again demonstrates
that he excels at reviving half-forgotten moments in electro-pop
and placing them in fresh new contexts. For their parts,
Prince Po, Jemini and Rell rise to the occasion with a
lurid, lairy stream of magical bollocks about jacuzzis,
pornographic movies and getting pissed in clubs that sees
them echo the lyrical subject matter of mainstream pop-rap
whilst keeping their tongues firmly in their cheeks. Coming
on like the soundtrack to a particularly unruly Martian
pole-dancing club, ‘Hold Dat’ is a bona fide,
booty-shaking winner.”
Joe Madden / JOCKEY SLUT
“This is a a strange alloy of Sheffield
steel, New York grit and cosmic radiation... Po’s
unmistakable sick-ass drawl... A great parcel of hate and
heat to get you tooled up for the summer...”

Kulkarni / DJ MAGAZINE
“Prince Poetry of Organized Konfusion
played an enormous roles on some of the most acclaimed
albums in hip hop. Now he's onboard at the trailblazing
Lex label, and his new 12-inch "Hold Dat" is unlike anything
you've ever heard before.”
FAT BEATS (NEW YORK)
“A heavyweight tune that could
flatten Westwood rooms, yet simultaneouslycharm Warp heads...”
**** Kevin
Martin / WHAT’S ON IN LONDON
“This us hip hop. A kick drum,
a hand clap, a sub-synth stab and tag team rhyming. If
this isn’t this year’s ‘Simon Says’ I’ll
bust a cap in Westwood’s ass.”
THE FLY
“Supa-dupa fly.”
